Welcome

Hi! I'm Nia (Formerly Pookie) and this is my story. I was in a shelter in KY when IBR heard about me. One of there volunteers really wanted to foster me. I wasn't sure what that meant, but sounded good to me. Well, before that could happen I was adopted, but returned the next day. That was very confusing. You see, I'm a shy girl. The shelter was told my former owner wasn't very nice to me. So it takes me some time to warm up. So anway, I was returned, in the mean time I had to wait till the next weekend to get onto a transport. The volunteer that wanted to foster me still wanted to take me in, but still had her current foster. But someone had put in an application to adopt me before I even met my foster mom. She talked to them, as did a few other IBR volunteers and the rest is IBR history!

Hugs!

I love to give hugs! This is how I do it. This is another IBR volunteer. She picked me up from another volunteer on the transport. I spent a few hours at her house with a few other dogs. Then she brought me to my overnight house. She told my overnight foster mom how sweet I am and lovable. Must be the hugs!

My Sleep Over

This is my over night foster mom. She was suppose to foster me, but my new family couldn't wait to get me! So I spend one night at her house. It was fun, there were a bunch of dogs. Buck was here too! He is still up for adoption, check out his blog: http://abuckarooforyou.blogspot.com/ I heard he is doing great in foster care. The foster mom here was putting bandanna's on everyone and she gave me on too. I took it with on the rest of my trip. I was pretty frightened at night, so she let me sleep in her room and I hopped on the bed in the middle of the night, but she didn't mind. We were up bright and early for the rest of my trip.

My first day home.

My first day home was fun, but tiring. I had a long trip. The second day of my journey went from IL to MN. I met some very nice people along the way that let me relax in their cars on my trip. I did sleep some of the time. But when I got to the end of my trip I saw these two boys, Travis and Dylan looking at me I just knew it was love at first site! Everyone in my new house was so kind and patient with me. The understood I was a rescue dog.

My Family

This is my family. The two boys are Travis and Dylan and thats Smitty. We all have a great time! I enjoy my walks and always have someone to play with or something to do. But I do enjoy the downtime when its time to relax and cuddle.

Thank you!
